TWIC Cards

Anyone entering a maritime facility must have a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) or be escorted by an approved Port of Greater Baton Rouge TWIC holder.

Possessing a TWIC does not grant automatic access to restricted area facilities. There must be a reason to be on port property and approved for access. TWIC is administered by the Transportation Security Administration. For more information on how to apply for TWIC, go to

U.S. Coast Guard regulations allow for certain non-TWIC holders to be escorted in restricted and secure areas as long as they have a reason to be on the property and are approved for access. Persons being escorted are required to present valid government issued photo identification.
